Cohabitation Agreements

Issues affecting unmarried couples and Cohabitation Agreements

The number of couples cohabiting has increased substantially in recent years and this increase is projected to continue in the future. For unmarried couples of the opposite sex and same sex couples who have not entered into a Civil Partnership the law relating to issues of finance and property is currently very different to the law for divorcing couples and Civil Partners. Our family lawyers can advise you on all aspects of financial and property issues.

Cohabitation agreements

Our family lawyers can prepare Cohabitation Agreements in cases where the couple who are not married nor in a formal Civil Partnership wish to regulate the financial basis on which they occupy a property and in relation to other assets.

We can also prepare Declarations of Trust defining the shares in which a couple beneficially own a property.

To contact us, please telephone one of our family team or use the online enquiry form and we will contact you.
